To reiterate, “love spells” and “reunion spells” DO NOT work. NO spell is “guaranteed to work” and NO psychic is - or can be - “100% accurate”. You can NOT bring an ex-lover back against their “free will”, i.e. if they choose not to return no one can force them.
Any psychic who endorses such claims CAN be considered as “fraudulent” IF they:
- Charge extortionately high prices for spells and spellwork, especially for “love spells” and “reunion spells”.
- Accept the money for “services rendered” and subsequently can no longer be found or do not reply to emails or other correspondences over a long period of time.
- Do not provide a facsimile of the spell being cast on their client’s behalf.
- Do not encourage or advise the client to create his or her own form of spell or affirmation to achieve the same results.
- Guarantees that the spell will work within a specific time frame, particularly with claims of “fast results” or “immediate results”.
- Do not explain the exact nature of the spell or the risks involved when casting the spell.
- Do not provide an additional, optional affirmation or spell as part of the continuation process, thereby ensuring that the spell becomes more “personalized”.
This is something that I take very seriously, especially in light of the sheer volume of complaints regarding the high charges for these types of spells. I grew up in an environment where ethics played an integral role in the way I practice today. I was also told the older, more traditional methods of spell-casting that were predominant before the advent of the Internet.
Here are some facts regarding this type of practice, gathered from Clients and Experts and the victims themselves:
- An increasing number of Clients are complaining about spending thousands of dollars on spells. Many admit that they are desperate enough for love and pay the amount requested, hoping against reason that the results of the spell will go in their favor.
- An equal number of online psychics are endorsing such spells, especially at Kasamba. (You don’t have to look far to find out how many, as such sites as Rip Off Report and other forums are full of victims’ stories.)
- Some psychics have been known to charge up to $10,000 for love spells or reunion spells, promising that the results will occur during a specific time frame, with the possibility of additional costs incurred for the continuation of the spell or for “follow ups”.
- Most of these “fraudulent” psychics will apparently disappear without a trace once they have the money in hand, usually disregarding all correspondences regarding requesting refunds.
- Kasamba endorses such practice because, according to a previous email, they “cannot be held responsible for Experts’ methods of practice”. That is, unless it compromises their position with regard to abuse and fraud. Besides, spellwork (regardless of individual prices) still generates them income.
Several of my Clients at Kasamba have reported being “ripped off” hundreds - sometimes thousands - of dollars for “guaranteed spells” and they have subsequently lost faith in psychics and their abilities. As a result, many refuse to hire the “genuine” ones and request or demand free “connection time” or free readings. The onus of repairing the damage that these so-called psychics do then falls upon those seemingly few psychics (including me) that actually cares about Clients’ well being. Oftentimes, it’s too late and nothing will convince the Clients that there are some “genuine” ones out in the world and that they are victims of these “false” psychics too.
Here are some statistics (based on the number of Clients I’ve spoken with online and offline over a period of time) detailing the impact these types of practices have:
- 85% of clients seeking spells are usually charged extortionately high prices for “purchasing” love spells and reunion spells. The “guaranteed” results invariably fail and no love or reunion takes place.
- 95% of clients are undergoing major emotional distress as a result from a breakup.
- 90% of clients who pay into these pseudo-spells suffer some form of emotional and psychological stress and financial loss.
- 70% of clients lose faith in psychics as a result of being hurt by these “fraudulent” psychics.
- 10% of those who have fallen prey to these pseudo-spells commit suicide.
- 65% of Kasamba Experts endorse some kind of spell-casting ability, although there is no way to establish the validity of any of them without personally experiencing their modi operandi.
- 75% of Clients requesting “free” readings or “proof of connection” have been conned by “fraudulent” psychics at some point and are now wary of paying for psychic services.
Rather disturbing, aren’t they?
As a guide for “proper” methods for using or casting spells, consider the following:
- Spells are basic affirmations to manipulate the energies surrounding a situation. These energies can be projected outwards to produce the desired results - IF they are practical and realistic.
- The spell’s overall cost might be one way to determine the authenticity of the spells and the psychic’s intent. As a general rule, any price over $500-$600 can be considered as too high. This also depends on the nature of the spell itself and if there are any additional follow-ups.
- “Love spells” (for bringing love into one’s life) are only designed to produce positive results within one’s “inner circle” so that self-love and self-growth can begin. Whatever is projected outwards, if realistic enough, will be received back in return. This applies to both positive and negative issues and whether communication can take place to address the issue that caused the breakup in the first place.
- “Reunion spells” (for bringing ex-lovers back) do not work because they do not take into account a person’s right to make choices for themselves. The only effective method for a reunion is if BOTH partners are willing to work through the areas that caused the separation in the first place. Nothing else will work! Furthermore, they are considered as “coercive spells” (spells that force another person against their will to act and think for themselves) and are methods of control, abuse and “spiritual kidnapping”.
- “Skinny spells” (for weight reduction) will not work either, as has been claimed by a certain psychic in the past. That is a health concern and psychics are not qualified to answer medical questions.
- “Pregnancy spells” (to ensure that a woman falls pregnant or will become pregnant) are also doomed to failure because, once again, they are dealing with health and medical issues. It is not viable for any psychic to “produce” or “predict” pregnancies - especially online - due to the nature of the “sight”. Psychics often see bite-sized portions of the entire pie, so it is far too easy to misdiagnose a pregnancy without a proper, physical examination by a qualified medical practitioner.
- “Resurrection spells” (to bring someone back from death), as has also been claimed by another psychic, are impossible and impractical. Once a person dies, that’s it. The physical body cannot be resurrected and no spell can bring anyone back from the dead.
- Claims that a spell is “guaranteed” is something of a misconception because nothing is guaranteed without effort. All spells require energy and action to produce results, but the results may not always be as desired, regardless of the intent behind them.
In the “olden days”, witches would often write in a “Book of Shadows”, which was a kind of diary or written record of their findings. The entries could range from simple recipes to complex potions, the properties of herbs to their uses, or the methods used for casting spells to the spells themselves. Oftentimes, the witches would form a coven and would meet at regular intervals to compare notes and share recipes and herbal remedies. However, the spells in a Book of Shadows were a closely guarded secret, and it was considered as “taboo” to share them with others. Many witches also used their Books of Shadows as a personal journey into witchcraft and psychic ability.
Today, there are no concrete codes of ethics for psychics to follow. As a result, in essence, it gives individual psychics free reign to practice however they deem fit, be they by fair means or foul. So many misconceptions are born from these “psychic masqueraders” and the seeds of misinformation that they sew that the true purpose and intent of being psychic has become semi-permanently obscured.
There is a fine line between what is “ethical” and what is “unethical”. What might seem right to one person might not be to another, but there is still some common ground in both traditional and modern methods of practice. I speak of the notions of “karmic” or “universal” laws, the “three-fold law” and various other “redes”.
A few examples are:
“Contemplate always the consequences of thine acts upon others. Strive not to do harm”.
– The Witch’s Rede of Chivalry:
Old Traditional Redes for Witches Regarding Ethical Practice
“An thee harm none, do as ye will.”
“A Druid does not cause Harm against another.”
There are many others, spanning throughout history and across the globe, but these three are the most recognized in modern society. Not everyone is a witch or Wiccan or Druid, but many of today’s practices have stronger roots in the older traditions that most people realize.
With that said, by definition, the methods of manipulative practice that these pseudo-psychics use ARE “harmful”, “unethical” and “immoral” because they hurt “real” people. Whether this is emotional, psychological, spiritual, physical or financial, it does not matter because in the end, the damage that they cause usually has long-term effects on both the Clients in need of help and the psychics willing to help.
And unless there is a codified ethical guide regarding psychic practices, or some radical changes in the law, the “genuine” psychics will remain as much the victims as the Clients themselves. And that is NOT what being psychic is about.
